Protect AI alternative
Independent. Open source. Built for agent code.
Protect AI was acquired by Palo Alto Networks in July 2025 (~$500M+) and integrated into Prisma AIRS. ModelScan + LLM Guard + Recon are now Palo Alto enterprise products. Open-source ModelScan remains available, but Protect AI as a standalone product is gone.
You're displaced because Prisma AIRS pricing is enterprise-tier, or you need pre-flight static analysis on agent code (not model files or container scans).
What Inkog provides
- Static analysis of agent CODE — what your agent decides, not what model file it loads
- AGENTS.md governance verification — unique to Inkog
- EU AI Act Article 14 mapping for the human-oversight obligation
- Open source (Apache 2.0) CLI — start in 60 seconds with `npx -y @inkog-io/cli scan`
- Methodology + 24-repo validation set public at inkog.io/report
What Inkog doesn't replace
- ModelScan-style file scanning of `.pkl`, `.h5`, `.safetensors` for serialized-attack patterns. Different problem entirely.
- Palo Alto Prisma AIRS's runtime API monitoring + WAF for AI traffic.
- Most teams that had Protect AI used ModelScan for model files + Recon for red-team. Inkog covers the agent code in between.
